Responsible play: how to set time limits and take breaks
Playing in balance means deciding in advance how long you will play and using tools that remind you: the IS Casino session reminder, your phone’s own usage limits and, if you need a longer break, self-exclusion from 1 to 365 days. Even with virtual chips of no monetary value, your time and attention are real.

Why limit time if chips are virtual
On IS Casino there is no money to win or to win back, but casino mechanics are built to hold attention: quick rounds, variable rewards, “near misses”. A time limit set in advance is the simplest way to keep the game fun.
Signs it is time for a break
- Often playing longer than planned.
- Feeling irritated or anxious when you cannot play.
- Neglecting sleep, work, study or family because of the game.
- Buying chips to “win back” — they are virtual and worth no money.
- Spending more on purchases than you can afford, or hiding it.
Step by step: set up your limits
- Decide the time before opening the game. Pick a time per session (for example 30 minutes) and a stopping time, and agree it with yourself before you start.
- Turn on the session reminder. In the IS Casino app, open the Responsible play page and turn on the session-time reminder with your chosen time.
- Use your phone’s limit. On Android, use Digital Wellbeing to set a timer for the browser or Telegram; on iPhone, use Screen Time › App Limits.
- Take real breaks. When the reminder goes off, close the game, get up and do something else for a few minutes before deciding whether to continue.
- Do not buy to keep going. If your chips run out, take it as a signal to stop; the free daily chips come back the next day.
- Ask for a longer break if you need one. If stopping is hard, request self-exclusion for 1 to 365 days on the Responsible play page and look for support.
