Hold & Win: how respins and fixed jackpots work

Hold & Win is a slot feature where coins with values lock on screen and you get 3 respins; every new coin resets the count to 3, and when the respins run out you get the sum of all coins — plus a fixed Grand jackpot if the whole screen fills.

The Hold & Win cycle

  1. A minimum number of coins (5 or 6, depending on the game) lands in one spin and starts the feature.
  2. The coins lock; the other cells spin again on their own: these are the respins.
  3. You start with 3 respins. Each new coin locks and resets the count to 3.
  4. When three respins in a row pass without a new coin, the feature ends.
  5. You get the sum of the coin values (in multiples of the stake), plus any jackpots that landed.
  6. If every cell fills, the Grand is added.

Fixed jackpots: Mini, Minor, Major, Grand

On Hold & Win slots the jackpots are fixed: always the same multiple of the stake. In Três Luas, for example, the red moon pays MINI ×10, MINOR ×25 or MAJOR ×100, and filling all 12 cells adds the GRAND ×500. In Trem de Ouro, coins carry ×0.2 to ×15 the stake or a MINI / MINOR / MAJOR jackpot.

Fixed is not the same as shared: the IS Casino shared jackpot is a common pot fed by a small part of stakes from 50 chips up, and it is also part of the 96% RTP.

Variations worth knowing

  • Collectors: the Locomotive (Trem de Ouro) and the cart (Garimpo do Lobo) add up the coins on the field.
  • Closed platforms and shafts: in Lobo Mascarado and Garimpo do Lobo the top rows start closed and open during respins, growing the field.
  • Colour effects: in Três Luas the blue, gold and red moon charges add coins, double every coin or pay a jackpot.
  • Egg multipliers: in Galinha da Sorte, ×2 / ×3 / ×5 eggs and chicks that double their neighbours.

Hold & Win volatility

In the RTP verification numbers, Hold & Win slots sit in the medium volatility band (standard deviation of about 6.7× to 9.3× the stake per spin), below the free-spin slots with multipliers. See the full table in the RTP and volatility guide.

Frequently asked questions

How many respins does Hold & Win give?

Three. Each new coin resets the count to three, so the feature continues as long as coins keep landing.

Is the Grand always paid when the screen fills?

Yes. Filling every cell adds the game’s fixed Grand (×500 to ×2000 the stake, depending on the slot), in virtual chips.

What is the RTP of Hold & Win slots?

The base RTP is 96%, the same as other IS Casino slots, with or without a feature buy.
